The Ligue Braille has existed since 1920.
Throughout Belgium, the Ligue Braille :

The non-profit association Braille is active throughout Belgium and offers free services related to the many aspects and stages of life:
- Social assistance
- Guidance and teaching of techniques that lead to independence
- Training and vocational integration
- Cultural and leisure activities

Throughout Belgium, the Ligue Braille :
- Accompany blind and visually impaired people who wish to do so, in order to promote their integration into society at every stage of their lives.
- Provides policy-makers, social and cultural players and the general public with expertise that promotes the integration of blind and visually impaired people at all levels of social life.
Values:
- Respect: the accompanied person is at the centre of our concerns.
- Neutrality: we welcome, without discrimination, all blind and visually impaired people.
- Autonomy: the person cared for must be able to make his or her own choices, in full knowledge of the facts.
- Expertise: our teams must have the necessary training and skills to provide quality support.
- Seriousness, honesty, adaptability: in compliance with the law, we conduct a sound and flexible management that ensures the sustainability of the institution in the performance of its missions.
